Calling all artists!

Marion Community Schools is seeking artwork for its annual holiday cards. This competition is open to all Marion Community Schools students (including Marion Regional Career Center). Winning artists receive a $75 Walmart gift card!

Please submit your original artwork, at least 8.5" x 11" (letter sized) to your school office by Nov. 9. Include your name, the school you attend, and your phone number when you turn in your entry.

Winning designs will be featured on the MCS holiday cards, which are printed by the Marion Regional Career Center printshop and are offered for sale to the public.

News Blog Category - News Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees invites letters of interest from individuals to serve on the Marion Public Library Board of Trustees. The appointment is from Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2022.

Eligibility requirements:
  • Reside in the city of Marion.
  • Reside in city of Marion for at least two years immediately preceding the appointment to the Library Board.
  • Attend meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Marion Public Library. (Members serve without pay.)

News Blog Category - News The Power of She: Knowing Your Worth youth conference is coming up, and all Marion girls first grade through 12th grade are invited.


The Power of She is all about being confident, kind, and strong! This free local event will include fun activities, food, and more, and there's even a special part for moms. The Power of She will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McCulloch Junior High School on Oct. 20. For more information and to register, click here to visit the Amara House online. 

You can also register day-of at the event. There will be a registration packet that will need to be completed by a parent or guardian.

News Blog Category - News All Riverview Elementary families are invited to our first Family Night of the year, this Tuesday, Oct. 2!

Food will be served from 5 to 5:30 p.m. by our community partners at Sunnycrest Baptist Church.

Activities will follow from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Students will be able to complete activities for candy, and students may come in costumes!

Students who come to this first family activity night of the year will receive a card to bring back to every family night and get stamped. Students who have stamps from four family night events will be given a prize, and will be entered into a grand prize drawing from our PASS organization. You MUST attend the first family night to get a card! Cards will not be given out at any other family night.

We hope to see YOU there!
