When is the first day of school?
The first day of the 2014-15 school year for students in Aug. 11.

When is registration?
Again this year, all student registration will be done through our online registration process.

Online registration is set to open soon. That process can be completed at any Internet-connected computer (including the public stations available at Marion Public Library).

However, computer/Internet access and staff assistance will be available during our summer registration days, set for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 21 and 22 at McCulloch Junior High School. (Because construction projects scheduled this summer throughout the district will restrict visitor traffic, there will be one registration location for all student registration.)

Any families with students who have never before been registered at an MCS school (including incoming kindergartners) should plan to come to the in-school registration, to provide copies of documentation needed for enrollment.

What is the earliest my student can be dropped off for school?

What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served between 7:35 and 7:55 a.m. (NOTE: This will be updated over the summer with new times for the 2014-15 school year.)

What time does school start and end? 
IMPORTANT NOTE:
 Marion Community Schools is shifting to a more efficient, cost-effective bus transportation system starting next school year that will also alter start and end times at our schools.  Click here for more information. (The schedule/calendar page here will be updated over the summer). 

I heard MCS revised its elementary school district boundaries. How do I know if my home elementary school has changed?

Click here for information on our revised district boundaries. IMPORTANT NOTE: All students wishing to attend a school other than their home district school must file a new permission to transfer application (even if you already had one on file). Contact your home district school for more information. Please note that MCS will provide bus transportation only to those students attending their home district school.

Is before-school and/or after-school care offered? 
The YMCA provides latchkey, holiday and emergency childcare. If you want to use these services, you must register and make payment arrangements with the YMCA. Call 765-664-0544 for more information.

What vaccinations are required for school enrollment?

What are the dress code rules?

How do I contact my child's teacher?

How can I report bullying, theft or other threats to students' safety?
The best thing to do is to contact the principal at your child's school. An official, written report is the best way to help us keep our students and staff as safe as possible.
