News Blog Category - News Riverview Elementary is excited to announce our Educator of the Month: Mrs. Pence!

This is her 21st year teaching with Marion Community Schools, and her second year at Riverview Elementary.

She attended Anderson University where she obtained her bachelor’s in elementary education.

Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the excitement on a student’s face when they get it. Her favorite thing about teaching at Riverview is the warm, loving, and caring environment. She says she is thankful for the staff, students, and families at Riverview Elementary.

It's that time of year again when our calendars start filling up with holiday plans!

And because we know our school holiday programs can take some logistical work for parents and families to attend, we've set the schedule now, so you can make plans early!

K-4 programs will be in the school gymnasium on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Here's a look at the grade-by-grade schedule:
  • 8:30 a.m. - 4th grade
  • 9:30 a.m. - 2nd grade
  • 10:30 a.m. - 3rd grade
  • 11:30 a.m. - kindergarten
  • 12:30 p.m. - 1st grade
PARKING NOTE: Due to Riverview’s limited parking, we need your help to keep the parking lot safe and make sure traffic is able to move. Remember to park in parking spots and NOT in the drive in front of the school. Please do not block anyone's driveways or park in anyone's
yard. If no spots are available, you may enter by the playground and park along the sidewalk, only on the playground side. It would be helpful if you arrive no more than 15 minutes before your child’s grade level start time. This will allow the families of the grade level before you to leave and will make more parking spaces available. Doors will not open before this time for seats.

A group of students will also be caroling the evening of Dec. 6, at Miller's Merry Manor, Brookdale Assisted Living, and Northwood Manor between about 4:30 and 6 p.m.

Little Giants Preschool at Riverview Elementary will have their holiday program at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 7.

Mark your calendars now, because we hope to see you here!
